Kexin Li focuses on antitrust and competition law in China, the EU and a number of other jurisdictions. She advises clients on multijurisdictional merger notifications, antitrust investigations and other competition issues (particularly involving issues concerning intellectual property rights) arising from business operations.

Ms. Li was recognized as a Rising Star for antitrust and competition issues by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2022.

Ms. Li’s recent experience, including prior to joining Skadden, includes representing:

  • DuPont de Nemours, Inc. in its proposed acquisition of Rogers Corporation;
  • Xilinx, Inc. in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.’s proposed acquisition of the company;
  • Coherent, Inc. in II-VI Incorporated’s acquisition of the company;
  • Konecranes plc in its proposed merger with Cargotec Oyj;
  • SK hynix Inc. in its US$9 billion acquisition of the NAND memory and storage business of Intel Corporation;
  • Cisco Systems, Inc. in its acquisition of Acacia Communications, Inc.;
  • DuPont de Nemours, Inc. in International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.’s acquisition of its Nutrition & Biosciences business;
  • ABB Ltd in Hitachi, Ltd.’s acquisition of its Power Grids business;

  • E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company in the sale of a portion of its crop protection business, including certain research and development capabilities, to FMC Corporation, in connection with DuPont’s merger with Dow. As part of this transaction, DuPont agreed to acquire substantially all of FMC’s health and nutrition business;
  • E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company on the merger control filings in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia with respect to its merger with The Dow Chemical Company, including remedy negotiations with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM);
  • ABB Ltd in its acquisition of General Electric Company’s Industrial Solutions business;
  • NXP Semiconductors N.V. on the merger control filings in China, Japan and South Korea with respect to Qualcomm Incorporated’s acquisition of NXP Semiconductors, N.V.;
  • Reichhold, Inc. on the merger control filing in China with respect to its merger with Polynt Group sarl;
  • Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. on the merger control filings with respect to its acquisition of Amlin plc;
  • Nokia Corporation on the merger control filings in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and seven other jurisdictions with respect to its acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent;
  • Konecranes plc on the merger control filing in China with respect to its acquisition of Terex Corporation;

  • Merck KGaA on the merger filings in China, Taiwan and the EU with respect to its acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation;
  • TTM Technologies on the merger filing in China with respect to its acquisition of Viasystems Group;
  • Marubeni Corporation on its continuous compliance with MOFCOM’s remedies imposed on its acquisition of Gavilon Holdings LLC;
  • a Japanese multinational chemicals manufacturer on the merger filing in China with respect to its joint venture in South Korea;
  • a multinational oil and gas company on the merger filings in China with respect to several joint ventures and acquisitions;
  • a multinational technology company on its complaint submitted to MOFCOM against a transaction then under review;
  • a Japanese company on the antitrust issues under Chinese law with respect to the patent disputes in the U.S. with its largest competitor; and
  • a multinational technology company on its response to the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China’s (NDRC) questions with respect to the agency’s antitrust investigation against another multinational technology company and its meeting with NDRC officials.

Ms. Li joined Skadden in 2014, and, prior to that, she worked in a leading U.K. international firm’s China antitrust team.

She speaks fluent Mandarin and English, and also is proficient in Japanese.
