Off-Campus Housing to Hit UC Davis for Fall Semester

A new LEED Gold-certified 260,000-square-foot off-campus student housing community is coming to the UC Davis market just in time for the fall semester of this year. Developer HighBridge Properties began construction on the property in fall 2019. The community is being developed in an opportunity zone at an underutilized infill site and brings 706 beds within 130 apartments to the area.

The Ryder on Olive is located half-mile from campus and is near the business district. Amenities include 20,000 square feet of community space. The community is pet friendly, and offers a dog park and washing station. An electric car sharing program will also be available for residents. Residents will be able to choose from multiple floorplans ranging from two- to five-bedroom apartments with the option for private or shared bedroom varieties.

The Ryder Affordable Student Housing Program is also available for students who may need assistance. This unique program is tailored for independent students, unlike other affordable programs that are geared more toward families, and addresses the disparities and rising cost of education.

“We’ve worked hard on creating a space in which residents can focus and thrive throughout their college career,” said Paul Gradeff, HighBridge Properties’ managing director. “And, with things slowly getting back to normal, we continue to actively fulfill leases despite the pandemic.”
